How to Import Plans

Overview

Instead of building plans one at a time, you can import many at once from an Excel file. You upload the file, map each column to the matching FieldPie field—adjusting column settings and formats where needed—review, and import. FieldPie provides a sample Excel file so you can format your data correctly first, and large files simply take a little longer to process. This is the fastest way to load a full schedule.

Before You Start

You need access to the Plans area and permission to import data. Prepare your Excel file first and use the sample as a template so your columns line up with FieldPie’s plan fields.

How to Import Plans

  1. In the left navigation menu of FieldPie, select Plans
  1. Click the import icon in the top-right corner.
  1. Click Choose File to select the data file you want to import.
  1. Download the sample Excel file from the description if you want to see the correct format first.
  1. Click Next to continue.
  1. Map each Excel column to the matching FieldPie field.
  1. If a pencil icon appears next to a column, click it to edit that column’s settings.
  1. Select the checkboxes for the fields to include and choose the desired format for each field, then click OK
  1. Click Next to move to the final step.
  1. Click Import Data to import your plans. Large files may take some time.

Tips and Things to Know

  • Start from the sample file so your columns map cleanly.
  • Use the pencil icon on a column to adjust its settings and format.
  • Review the mapping before importing—it’s your last check.
  • Large imports run in the background; let them finish rather than retrying.
