Overview 

User tracking shows the location of selected users on a map so you can see where your field team is during the day. You pick the users you want from the list and open them on the map, which is useful for coordinating coverage, responding to what is happening in the field, and understanding movement across an area. Tracking depends on each user’s device sharing its location, and how often and how precisely it does so is controlled by the Advanced User Tracking settings. 

Before You Start

You need access to the Users area and permission to view user tracking. For a user to appear, location sharing must be enabled for their account and device. If you want to control how frequently locations update, review the Advanced User Tracking settings first. 

How to Track Users on the Map

1. In the left navigation menu of FieldPie, select Users. 

2. Use the checkboxes to select one or more users you want to track. 

3. With the users selected, click the tracking (map) icon in the top-right corner. 

4. View the selected users on the map to see their locations. 

Tips and Things to Know

• Select several users at once to see your whole team on a single map. 

• A missing user usually means location sharing is off for their device or account. 

• How current the positions are depends on the Location Retrieval Frequency set in Advanced User Tracking. 

• Use tracking to balance coverage during the day, not just to review it afterward.
