How to Create a New Folder

Overview 

Folders let you organize your documents into clear categories. After creating a folder you can open it and upload files into it, which keeps related documents together and easy to find. Choosing a descriptive folder name up front makes the whole document space easier to navigate. 

Before You Start 

You need access to the Documents area and permission to manage documents. Decide on a clear folder name that describes the documents it will hold. 

How to Create a New Folder

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Document
  1. Click the folder icon in the top-right corner. 
  1. Enter the folder name
  1. Click OK to create the new folder. 
  1. Open the new folder by clicking on it. 
  1. Click the upload icon in the top-right corner. 
  1. Click Choose File in the menu that opens and add a document to the folder. 

Tips and Things to Know

  • Give folders descriptive names so the document space stays easy to navigate. 
  • You can upload straight into a new folder right after creating it. 
  • Group related documents together to reduce searching later. 
  • The folder shows the exact name you type when creating it.
