Overview
Dashboard permissions decide who can view and who can edit a custom dashboard. When you create or edit a dashboard, the Viewer section controls who can see it and the Editor section controls who can change it, and you assign both by selecting users, teams, roles, or skills. This keeps sensitive reports in the right hands and prevents unintended changes.
Before You Start
You need access to the Dashboard and permission to create or edit dashboards. Decide who should be able to view the dashboard and who should be able to edit it before you set the permissions.
How to Manage Dashboard Permissions
- In the left navigation menu, select Dashboard.
- Click the report icon in the top-right corner.
- Click the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner.
- In the Viewer section, choose who can view the dashboard by checking the appropriate boxes for users, teams, roles, or skills.

- In the Editor section, choose who can edit the dashboard by checking the relevant boxes.
Tips and Things to Know
- Viewer and Editor are separate—someone can view without being able to edit.
- You can assign access by user, team, role, or skill, whichever fits best.
- Keep editor access limited to avoid unintended changes to shared reports.
- Set permissions thoughtfully for dashboards that contain sensitive data.
