How to Create an Inventory Item

Overview

Creating an inventory item records a piece of equipment or stock with its full classification—main type, type, sub type, make, model, size, location, specifications, and serial number. FieldPie lets you add the option values for each of these headings as you go, so you can build out your classification lists while creating the item. The serial number uniquely identifies the item, while the classification fields make it easy to group and find later.

Before You Start

You need access to the Inventory Management area and permission to add inventory. Have the item’s classification details and serial number ready. You can add new option values for each heading directly on the create screen if they don’t exist yet.
